This year’s VanLandingham Award goes to the Georgia Department of Education’s Social Studies Department. The Georgia DOE Social Studies Department has been a critical partner of GCEEs since the 1970s. Over the years, numerous state superintendents, deputy superintendents, and social studies program managers have served on GCEE’s board and committees.

During the last two decades, in particular, the Social Studies Department from the Georgia DOE has consulted with GCEE closely on standards revisions, test development, material creation, and workshop delivery. GCEE is fortunate to have a close relationship with a group dedicated to getting economic and personal finance education right in the public schools of Georgia.
